Are you going to one of those just past midnight screenings?

I shall be orff to see that in the next few days. I'm tempted by Transformers, too.

My friend went to see Transformers last night, he said aside from a bit of cheesyness it was pretty good. He's tempted to go and see The Simpsons tonight.

When I glances ate Garner's post at nighttime, and my tired eyes combined "Grace -screening -YAY", I reacted totally confused.
Where is she, anyways, other than in envy enticing movie screenings?

I saw transformers at the weekend. I wish I was a kid again, I would have enjoyed it more. But it did take me back.

I've been totally avoiding the internet until finishing Harry Potter, which took a lot longer than it might have because we've been reading it aloud together, rather than me sitting and reading it for four hours solid on the night of its release.

Oh it was good, so good.

I saw it... in French... ok, the translators did the best they could but you still miss massive amounts... Damn film companies

This i agree with. After hearing the German Scully in the X-Files dubbing should be banned. I even hate it when you get the American dubbing on Chinese kung fu movies. Learn to read the subtitles!

Yeah... I have quite a few friends who claim that they can't enjoy a film or get into it if they have to read and watch at the same time... All I find to say to that is "LAAAAAAAAME !" It's only a matter of practice, if Reg can manage that when he has trouble getting his brain around complicated plots like that of Pulp Fiction, then, hell, anyone can !

Our local cinema, the one we have an all-you-can-watch-for-20€-a-month card for, although part of a chain is pretty good, if a film is available in both dubbed and subtitled, they will try to screen both, if not at the same time, they will do one version first and the other later on, sometimes they will even only do the subtitled version if they feel the film won't run for long enough to do both. The problem they have is with the film companies, for example, the 3rd Harry Potter film had only 3 subtitled copies made for France, which is completely stupid !

Edit : this said, I must point out that sometimes the dubbed versions are very well done (I never thought I'd say this, but in some rare cases, I actually almost prefer the dubbed version to the original), sometimes they are utter crap, and the same goes for subtitles, sometimes they are so incredibly awful that Reg points out the mistakes ! So yeah, subtitling is, in some cases, better than dubbing, but not always... Actually the best thing is to be fluent in every lanuage

Best subtitling mistake ever: The Malay subtitles on MI2...

Tom Cruise: "C'mon, lets get lost."
    Subtitle: "Ayo! Pergi mandi!"
Translation: "Hey! Lets go to the bath!"

Lord knows how that happened, but the Hong kong films are often riddled with ridiculous subtitles but I still prefer them to bad dubbing.

Elf & I went to see it at the drive in. It was awesome, and I had never been to the drive in before, so that was a cool new experience.
