    My new computer is working.
    I turned thirty.
    I quit my shitty job.

    How've you guys been?
  2. Hsing Moderator

Congratulations on at least two out of the three... or all of them, depending on the situation. :)

Here, pretty much the same as last time I complained about my life, only that we feel like frogs kicking until the milk they were dropped into turns to butter and we can one day crawl out and slither and hop away from this. We're having a very positive attitude about it.

I wouldn't mind to hear more often from the Garner household again. So, a new and working computer sounds like a good thing.:)

Same here, we've missed you dudes, wondered what was going on and why the hell you didn't turn up for Londonaugustembercon. Well, except for the obvious reason that you suck. Grace doesn't, obviously.

Oh and welcome to Thirtyland. It's a nice enough place once you get used to it.
  4. Garner Great God and Founding Father

    Thirtyland is suiting me okay.

I have a new job that so far does not suck at all, and is in fact blissful. The phone rang four times today. Only four! And none of the calls were about child abuse!

    I've begun smiling again.
  5. Katcal I Aten't French !

Oh dear. ou do know you scare small children when you smile, right? I mean that alone probably counts as child abuse...

Welcome back, I have also been missing you both. I'm glad you found a job you like, it is much better to have something good to do then suffer for the dang paycheck. Thirty is just the new twenty any way I hear, but it has been so long ago I don't remember that much about either age. I'm just happy to keep waking up myself :)

Welcome back 'youngsters', my life is now complete...
At least we may get more posts between Kat's output now.
  8. spiky Bar Wench

    Welcome back.

I also hit thirtyland. SO far I haven't spotted the differences between it and twentyland but I'm sure a grey hair will turn up at some point in time to highlight the fact that I'm getting older.

Good to hear about the job. What is it exactly and why would child abuse be an issue?

    And where is Grace?

Welcome back. Congratulations on the new job. Hope it continues to be enjoyable!

That sounds great. I hope it stays that way.

Hmm, Garner, always thought you were at least late 30s to be honest!

Congrats on finding a job you like. Took me a while...current one still not the best because had to move to Dublin & would prefer to be home in Cork, but sure you can't have everything!
  13. Katcal I Aten't French !

woohoo! Another Boardanian in Dublin. One day we shall take over I tells ya!

Last time I visited that fair city (1969), looking for pretty girls pushing wheelbarrows full of fish, the staple diet at our hotel seemed to be Guinness and oysters with everything. Morning, noon and night for three weeks.

You just can't make a good take-over plan when you're sat in the loo, clutching your stomach.

    I'm fine. Turned 34 yesterday.
  16. Katcal I Aten't French !

You do of course realise that that is all part of the plan, right? Distracting the tourists so they don't catch on... :pirate: I mean who but a tourist would believe that oysters are a real food.
  17. Joculator The 'Old' Fool

They are more of a 'specialist' food in my part of the country, although only 70% work, on average!

But that could just be me!

"Just waking up in the morning means a lot to me" - Keith Richards, no idea when he said it though, but i heard it about 15 years ago...

Also, i discovered white hairs in my beard shortly before hitting 30. I blame the job, as it also gave me shingles at around the same time.

Grace is alive and well, i think she's just terrified of trying to catch up on the boards, which prevents her from visiting even to just start afresh. I keep telling her not to worry about it, and that none of you deserve to be treated like real human beings, but she just won't listen. oh well.
  19. redneck New Member

I don't treat myself like a real human. I treat myself like Pinocchio. Oops, my nose just grew again.
  20. Zim New Member

some would say that humans are overrated.

Those who say that are probably addicted to world of warcraft and will give you a lecture as to the superiority of.... oh lets say...... platipusses...platipusi...platipi?

what the hell is the plural to platipus?
  21. Joculator The 'Old' Fool

It's another boring Saturday, so just to be a bit geeky and having a few minutes to spare I bring you this from the pages of Wikipaedia ...

"There is no universally agreed upon plural of "platypus" in the English language. Scientists generally use "platypuses" or simply "platypus". Colloquially, "platypi" is also used for the plural, although this is pseudo-Latin; the Greek plural would be "platypodes".

You should've just said sheep they're a lot easier to understandand
  22. Ba Lord of the Pies

Ba should never be treated like a human. What shoddy service!
  23. TheJackal Member

That is a brilliant smiley! Does it work on other websites, like Bebo perchance?
  24. Katcal I Aten't French !

I have no idea, don't know much about Bebo, I have only ever seen it here :)
