Who would win in a three way free for all between Jean Michel Jarre, Phillip Glass, and the more pretentious half of Ladytron?
  2. Ba Lord of the Pies

    With enough fatalities? The world.
  3. Garner Great God and Founding Father

the correct answer is clearly Zappa.

I like some of the stuff from Phillip Glass. It's a "know three albums, know them all" thing, but still.

Language question: What is a three way free for all?
  6. Garner Great God and Founding Father

three way refers to the configuration, as opposed to 'two way' which would be bipolar, three way would be tripolar or triangular.

free for all refers to a general contest or melee with no sides or teams and every entity for themselves only. usually implies 'no holds barred', as well, which means that the rules of sportsmanship and good conduct are suspended.

Or all three go mad and beat each other up... Jean-Michel Jarre, obviously.

    Couldn't agree more.

Jarre has giant lasers, how could he not win?

Because his giant ego gets in the way of the lasers.*

*I actually have no idea if Mr Jarre has a giant, moderate or even microscopic ego but having suffered Oxygene (my brother and I shared a room and he was a fan) far, far, far too many times as a teenager, I can only guess.
    *Shudder*

And anyway it seemed like a fun thing to say.:D

surely a giant ego (yep, dead right there) is a most powerful weapon for smiting?
  12. Garner Great God and Founding Father

But is his ego a match for the pretentiously snotty half of Ladytron? What about the other half, the snottily pretentious one?

And I think we can all agree that Phillip Glass is bordering on the John Malcovich level of creepy, and creepy is one of the most powerful forces in the universe.
