So i've been getting into Steely Dan pretty heavily lately. I can remember enjoying The Royal Scam back when i was about 3 or 4, but I've been grooving on their first two albums quite a lot since i've gotten ahold of them recently. jazzyfunky stuff. i remember a teacher back in tenth grade suggesting that i might like steely dan since i was a big pink floyd fan, and in his understanding, floyd fans often liked steely dan as well. at the time i tried to get into them and didn't really find it spoke to me. i've often wondered about some music, how it seems like it really only speaks to a certain age group. i love jethro tull's earlier stuff, but some of the later works haven't yet really done it for me, and i'm wondering if i'll have to wait till i'm in my fourties before it does.
