I finally managed to get my Discworld Quiz game to work for this site with high scores. It's pretty basic at the moment, I'd like to add some code so that there is a time limit to answer questions so you don't have time to look up the answer. Having said that some of the 10 questions I've made for this first version would be pretty hard to look up, well you'd have to be pretty sad to go and spend ages looking them up just to get the top score anyway... It's in the Word Games sections of the games here: http://www.terrypratchettbooks.org/gate.html?name=Flash_Games&func=play&gid=216 if anyone wants to test it. It's been so long since I started it and wrote the quesations I even got two wrong myself when I played it just now. We can have new qeustions in future if anyone wants to come up with any; there's no limit on the number of questions, just need a question and a,b or c answers.
With a little trial and error everyone can have a top score. No need for looking up the answers. Lots of many more questions would be good.
8 out of 10. Mal, when you hit "Play again" it just keeps repeating the last question... It looks slick though!
I got 9/10. Really diddn't know about the illustrated thing, never seen the mort ill novel. How do i get to the game? I followed your link to play.
I shamefully got 5/10 first off, then 5/10 second time and then finally 10/10 on my third attempt. :?
How the hell do you get your score to stay on??? I've played it 6 times allready and nothing i do keeps my score on the scoreboard. my beutiful 20/20 score!!! #sob#
I think it's only adding unique scores for now, so if someone else already got 10 (or whatever) it doesn't record it. I'll have to figure out how to get it to add duplicate scores like Pingu does. You'll just have to tell us here what you got, just like in the olden days.
Aaargh... what is up with my computer? I won't play any Flash files anymore. All I get is the Macromedia installer message which doesn't work, because everytime I click "yes" nothing happens! Any suggestions?
Have you got a pop up blocker switched on? Try pressing shift when you click YES to install Flash player?
What if you click the button here: http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/...orm=Win32&P3_Browser_Version=NetscapePre4
[quote:a5d3d16f28="Maljonic"]What if you click the button here: http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/...orm=Win32&P3_Browser_Version=NetscapePre4[/quote:a5d3d16f28] It worked! Which is strange, because I had already tried that. But.. who cares? Edit: Gah... it's still asking me to download Macromedia Flash Player 8 and that still doesn't work.
Evil game. I spent way too much valuable time re-reading books to try and track down the answers to the questions I missed. Next time I'll do better. (There will be a sequel, right?)
