Apparently it doesn't apply to Al Gore...

    From the article:

"If this were any other person with $30,000-a-year in utility bills, I wouldn't care," says the Center's 27-year-old president, Drew Johnson. "But he tells other people how to live and he's not following his own rules."

So this person doesn't actually care about the environment, but only discrediting Al Gore. That subtly alters the light in which I read the article. Also, although I agree that it's not good for Al Gore's house to use so much electricity, I don't think that makes it bad that he's spoken out about climate change. Thank God a prominent American has done so in a way that's got people to pay attention.

Edit: And, having read the rest of the article, it sounds to me like Gore's doing a pretty good job and there's not actually much wrong with the way he's dealing with his home's energy consumption.

*nod* That "think tank" sounds rather shifty, I agree.
