I don't know if this is the right place to put this thread..but hey we shall see.... I am a newb after all!!! In my intro, I say that when someone complains to me I say : 'It could be worse, it could be me!' Now, since I wrote that I have started re-reading CoM cos it is gonna be on telly. Lo and behold, page 62, Rincewind saying 'It could be worse, it could be me' I want to clarify that I didn't put it in my intro cos i though it sounded 'discworldly' or anything. The last time I read that book was probably 15 years ago, my preference being towards Watch books. I had to discuss this with the wife to try and discover when I started using that saying. I have come to the concluson that there is a very real possibility that reading that first novel (and others) has actually shaped my character into who I am today. I am both shocked and proud. And I wanted to share that.
I think I used to say 'bugger' a lot because of Death saying it when I started reading the books in about 1991, and still do it now sometimes.
