OK, I need some help from the english part of the board. I'm looking at a possible week in London in August. Any tips on a cheap hotel i can go to with my better half? Oh and of course, if I go to London a minicon will have to be discussed.
This is the site I usually use, there are quite a few hotels among the cheapes ones around the Bayswater/Queensway area, really close to Hyde park, plenty of Underground accesses, and a pleasant area with plenty of restaurants and shops, not far from Notting Hill market and so on... What, I thought you normally stayed at the Savoy? Oh wait, it's because it's closed for restoration until 2009 isn't it?

Meh, I'm done with those crappy 5 star hotels, the last (and only) one I stayed in was so disappointing, I'd rather go back to that nice one on Bayswater road run by a lovely Indian family and that had rooms with a curious smell... :bunny:
