I quite like my new one, but it occurred to me that it might amuse you all to make your own versions of the evil-eyed one. I believe I have a pirate, a besuited accountant, a pink-dressed girl, a Charlie Brown, a musketeer, a Father Christmas and a Daigoro samurai child in my collection. Let's see what you can do. Thanks to Doors for the hosting.
Rock On!! Edit to say: I have made YogiFloyd, but I can't post it because I have no where to host it.
Spiky, that's brilliant! Bauke, I had yet to receive your email this morning, but I'll check now. Om, send it to Bauke! I promise to use all avatars people make (unless they are vetoed by Garner...), so get cracking folks!
I was going to go through these in order, but I had to skip Spiky's because I couldn't make the file size small enough. If anyone feels like reducing Darth Floyd to 150x150 pixels (ie 60% of the original), adding the words 'By Spiky' somewhere visible and then condensing the file size somehow, I would be very grateful.
Thanks Ben the necessary technological knowhow may just have escaped me if I'd attempted it...All I can say is that Paint is crap.
Tamyra's Buzzfloyd avatar: PS: Buzzfloyd: There is no need to take the avatar down to 10k, you can just link to this one, AFAIK.
Hsing that's baaad, very bad. Now I shall live in dread that Buzzfloyd takes umbrage at something I've posted and comes after me with that axe.
Oh good. That makes me feel better. WIll try and get the creative juices flowing and come up with another effort, hopefully with better results than my rather amateurish effort last time.
Ben, the lower res Darth Grace is still over 10 kb! Spiky, your work obviously has far too much depth and complexity for this board.
Well, the board is a dirty great liar, because it is 9.69kb. As the board is being naughty, just use the link to offsite avatar option
Weirdly, the one linked by me says 9.82kb... or 10055 bytes - (because there are 1024 bytes in a kb). But it doesn't matter if you use the "Link to off-site Avatar" option at the bottom of the info page as the board doesn't care about how much of someone else's server you are using. edit: last part of sentence
Grace you are looking excellent if I may say so myself. And yes my artistic ability obviously plumbs the depths of human existence, seeking the simple from the complexity of the chaos that is our lives. Or once again I could say that Paint is crap...
Edit: I thought you could all make your guesses as to what inspired this one. It's a line/concept from a song. First to name the song gets a cyber hug from me. Edit again: I added my name to the pic. Return of the Son of Edit: Ok I couldn't hold myself any longer so I added the line to the pic too. Episode I, the Edit Begins: High resolution version here.
Excellent, thanks, KK! Comfortably Numb is a great song. Spiky, thank you, I feel divine, darling. And Paint does indeed suck.
I'll explain that bit. I've always pictured the doctor (Roger Waters) in Comfortably Numb being sent by either Pink's management or his record company to fix him up for his show. The management/record company sent doctor stands there with the previous success in his hands, probably just pushed into his hands before he entered the hotel room to convince him how important it was to get Pink perform his show. or I was too lazy to draw a bunch of bricks.
But...I thought Dark Side Of The Moon was released after The Wall. I could be wrong, I frequently am.
Dark Side of the Moon - 1973 Wish You Were Here - 1975 Animals - 1977 The Wall - 1979 Edit: This span was the best years of music ever, if we're going for the KaptenKaries Dictionary Definition of Music, as Ella would have put it.
I conceed to your intimate knowledge of Pink Floyd. *is humbled* Edit to ask: The female vocalist from Dark Side of the Moon, I heard she also did the soundtrack for Bilitis, a movie about exploring lesbian love and passion. Is this true? When I was a kid my parents had that film and the sound track, one of the most beautiful soundtracks ever. They would not allow me to watch the film though. I always wanted to see it, and when I left home I had attemped to find it, to no avail. Now there is the internet, so I could totally get it, but I am lasy and do not own a dvd or vcr.
