It's probably a true story. I can imagine that the US government had no real reason to be happy with Musharraf. It was our listening to the Pakistanis back during the Soviet-Afghan war that put the Taliban in charge in the first place.
Ah well, I doubt I have the capacity to stay unbiased when discussing Pakistan. His timing sucks though .. and then referring to his book contract after making such a statement is just .. stupid.
