Starting January 1st, I will no longer be smoking. Hopefully I will last longer than last 8 or so times I've given up this year. Longest spell being six weeks. I will also be trying to give up / cut down on my chinese takeaway habit. And I promise to weed my garden more. And curse less. And go to Church on a day that it is not obligitory (ie, Christmas, which is the only time I've gone in the last few years) And be nicer to D in work. It's not her fault she's an idiot who doesn't know where Berlin is. Or New York. Or Egypt. And is so blonde that she doesn't get blonde jokes. And I will stop procrastinating. And I will try to start going to bed at a decent hour so that I get enough sleep and am not cranky 24/7. I think that's it. Anyone else got any resolutions they want to share?
I have one very successful new years resolution... I don't make any I will continue to smoke; indulge in chocolate; drink; have more chocolate; over spend; have more chocolate... Good luck to all who have decided to have them.
I will try to continue not to have too many New Year's resolutions, I find I get plenty of guilt already, and life just seems sweet enough right now. I think the only one I want to make this year is to try to always be grateful. that will be a tough enough one.
Most definitely  . I gave up smoking about 3 years ago I don't drink anymore and I don't really like chocolate. I will go with one of mazekin's (many) resolutions and stop procrastinating and maybe I'll finally get on with something. Here's hoping anyhow. R.
Good on the smoking - I managed to stop for just under 3 years, then things kinda went ape. My stop date was 1 February - I find that there is too much pressure with new year resolutions. I will stop again - when the time is right, and it won't be at new year! Don't like chocolate!!!!! I have to say that with most of Mazekin's resolutions - I keep trying all year... Garden more - not just pour weed killer everywhere (not very environmentally friendly) Curse less - if people would stop upsetting me I would! Procrastinating - hey I'm an expert at the moment. Sorry to all who dislike multiple exclamation marks, but I cannot understand how folk can dislike chocolate... tis sacrilege, one of the five fruit/vegs recommended per day...
My new years resolution is to go the whole of 2008 without eating yellow snow. Someone once gave me this great bit of advice but in all previous years the urge has overtaken me and i've indulged in snow of the yellow variety. Well not this year, this year i will be strong.
New year resolution my new years resolution is to stik to my exercise routine and not substitute the gym with tiny indulgencies. another is to put myself first a lot more of the time instead of spreading myself so thin I feel like a ghost
Ew. There is nothing else to say to that. I have no resolutions just the vague hope that i get my PhD done. Finally. And to give you guys a heads up another PhD thread may be coming your way shortly I have to get over the holiday lag before I can be arsed putting it together though.
Ewwww... Dudes, not just after a full Irish breakfast ! Yeah, that's right Rinso, there is now more Irish stuff in me than in you. Ever.
To post here more, feel free to prod me*. *Except for Rinso or the other doormen, espesially Rinso I don't want to know what they will prod me with.
I am getting on well with my New Years resolution  (Yup the one that I don't make any). I've just about OD'd on the adverts, and current affairs items on how to help you achieve your goal. Arrgh enough, please enough - where's the remote, change channels - quick, arrgh - flick again, and again - ah relief! 'Service will begin again at 6am' Anyhoo hope you are not being affected the same way, and are doing well. A friend got me one of these lovely wee plaques... 'I'd give up chocolate, but I'm not a quitter'. How true.
