Probably seen this one before, post others if you find(or make) them. 1. Statement 2 is true. 2. Statement 1 is false. Which would leave some people who did not get the joke yelling 'WTF!?'at the top of their lungs.
Yes, I've seen them before, in a somewhat different rendition: A man is facing a death sentence. He is informed he's allowed to make one final statement. If that statement is true, he will get hanged, and if the statement is false, he will get shot. The man thinks for a while and then says "I will get shot". The executioner finds no other solution but to cancel the death sentence.
See, I would just have gone "Uh. . . I'll just slowly torture you for making me attaempt to work that out". But then I'm mean.
