Once, there was a boy who spoke to fairies, and ruled a land of fire-breathing dragons and mysterious trolls. Once, there was a girl who traveled the stars in a ship of her own design, meeting aliens and robots on the edge of space. Once, there was a boy who had an uncle who had done anything you could think of. Once, there was a girl who build a time machine and visited dinosaurs and the children of the future. And that was just another day on Fifth Street. Another Day on Fifth Street is the name of the comic strip I've been developing. It's about the adventures four children have as they play together. It's about the worlds we created when we were kids. It's a kid's comic, but it's not a simple story, and it doesn't talk down to the reader. It's something adults can read with the same satisfaction, and hopefully with the bittersweet memories of their own childhood returning. I've gotten the characters written out, and I've written up some early scripts. But I can't go much further without an artist. I can't guarantee any money will come from this. Money isn't really the point for me. But if there are any profits down the line, I'll be glad to share them. If any of this interests you, please contact me, and we'll see if we can work together.
it sounds so interesting... but my art isn't consistent enough for comics i don't think. that and i'm going to fall off the face of the earth for eighteen months.
People have been telling me I need to get back to drawing, Maybe I'll give this a shot ad get my MFP hooked up too. Just give me a couple of hoursor days okay?
I was thinking of a trousers-down public spanking with beachball rackets, but hey, a hammer might just do it... I think I'm with plaid on this one, the project sounds great, I don't think my drawings are up to it. But hey, keep us posted.
