"One of the great things about America, one of the beauties of our country, is that when we see a young, innocent child blown up by an IED, we cry." -- George W. Bush
[quote:8024114678="Ba"]If they have to spend more than fifty bucks to make an IED, they're not doing it right.[/quote:8024114678] Very true.

Then I had the patterns from twelve faberge eggs maticulously removed, flattened and applied to my work of art. The gold shovel for burying the device was merely an afterthought."

MOUAHAHAHAHAHA ! Yeah, ok, Ba's right. Also, what Garner left out was the rest of the sentence. "we cry... because it stole our toy the stupid kid and now it's bwoooooken !" or maybe even "we cry... thinking of all those other poor innocent kids out there who aren't lucky enough to have IEDs to play with. And so we send them some. And blame the arabs for it."

I'll have to tell them at the next memorial service and to the next brother of a fellow killed by the insurgency (oops, I meant, US Delta force dressed up as Iraqis, shhh) for not allowing them to use his house as a safe haven.

Brad, those weren't meant to be offensive to you or any other american anywhere in the world other than GWB, I'm truly sorry if it sounded that way. America has its idiots who say and do stupid things, so does England, France, Iraq and every other country on the face of this earth. And people get killed when idiots get power, whether it's democratic power, or just access to a gun or enough stuff to make an IED, and that sucks like hell, wherever and whenever that happens. And it makes me mad, and sometimes things come out wrong when I'm mad... I'm just as mad at the saudi fire story in the other post, or the kiddie porn one.
As I was saying to Roman, you certainly can't say that the POTUS (President Of The United States) speaks well. Or that he should be boastful that the American people exhibit basic humanity (sorrow at the death of a child). But you also can't say that he's an evil person who only wants to sow misery and would delight in a child's death.
hell, at best he's a puppet of people who simply don't care about what harm befalls strangers because of their plans and interests. still, he hasn't got the altzheimers excuse that reagan did, so we might as well make fun of his public idiocies now before he's dead, because you all know the way the republican party's PR machine works... soon as that man's dead, he'll have been one of the greatest visionaries to guide the country and herald it into a new mellinium or some such. they may even send his coffin on tour.
Brad, Roman, I think we have the right to tell off someone who says foolish things without necesarily siding with terrorists, thank you very much.
Saccharissa, suggesting - even in mockery- that someone kills children by having his people plant home made bombs on the side of roads and then blame an entire race for it is not telling someone off for saying something foolish. Nor is what Katcal said "siding with the terrorists". And the same goes for making fun. Making fun of what someone says is one thing. Making fun that they'd kill children happily is another. Now, if that's your belief, that's fine. But don't expect silence or only agreement. It is like this in any debate, yes?
If we want to be precise here, I wasn't saying he would happily kill children or delight in their death, I'm sure he would be quite incapable of it. But sounding stupid and childish about serious and even dramatic matters, yes. That was all I was getting at, the debate was based on a quote, that's what my answer was about, not about world politics, just the quote of a human being, although given the human being, I can see how it is easy to see more into it than what I originally meant.
Brad, President Bush's wife cracked jokes about him milking stallions in the first day at the ranch. Katcal mocking the callousness and thoughtlessness of an actual quote is [i:67478a57e7]way[/i:67478a57e7] more respectful. Plus, you and Roman were completely and totally out of line for statements such as [quote:67478a57e7] Those're funny ones. I'll have to tell them at the next memorial service and to the next brother of a fellow killed by the insurgency (oops, I meant, US Delta force dressed up as Iraqis, shhh) for not allowing them to use his house as a safe haven. [/quote:67478a57e7] and [quote:67478a57e7] Well said, Brad. [/quote:67478a57e7] that equate Katcal's (justified, as far as I'm concerned) sneering with being disrespectful to the dead soldiers/civilians/whathaveyou. If you want to back this position of yours, I am willing to start a thread dedicated to this debate. Edit: fixed broken code
