I'm (re)reading 'Going Postal' at the moment and I was inspired to drawthis portrait of the great politician - my first ever attempt at a Discworld character.
As a rule, we tend to post in other people's threads if they're on the same topic - there's no 'personal thread' thing going on here. So, next time, eh? The picture's good, although I didn't know Vetinari was Jewish.
Definitely not exclusive, feel free to post stuff there. Makes it more interesting than just having my scribbles in there. =) Good picture too, although I always imagined him with less of a beard.
Thanks. I think it was the mouth. I was hoping to achieve the slightly quizzical expression I imagine him wearing during those silences people feel they have to fill - but he just ended up looking friendly Thanks - yes, it got slightly out of control when I was trying to achieve the right shape! :?
I think it might actually make him appear a bit more sinister, because he looks less sinister than he is in this picture. Sort of like he looks kind, which kind of fools you. He does always talk to people as if he's being kind to them, with the words he's using, but the situations he has people in while he's being ostensibly kind makes them squirm.
