Now, as much as I love the Tripod comics, they are Doors' creation. (Besides the fact that he perverts the meaning of the word "update" ) So I'd love to do my own comic. (3) But, and this is the reason for this post, I can't write my way out of a wet paper bag. I've read some stories that have been posted on this site and we have some serious talent here. I'm a little torn wether to offer help... You know, I was thinking about an own series. I have a lot of small story lines ready, dialogues and all... But I still hope I get around drawing them myselves... that may never happen, though. Hm. What kind of story did you have in mind?
Ah yes, the dreaded question. Actually anything is fine. Epic stories, gag-strips (Short with a joke), conceptual, whatever. I think humouristic works good for me, but a dark, serious story would certainly challenge me, which is what I’m looking for.
Any specific webcomic that hints the direction you'd like to go? And what exactly would you expect from your co-author - detailed descriptions? Story background? Dialogues only?
Wow, Gossamer Commons would be a reference, but also Questionable Content or Megatokyo. Sinfest and PVP are out of my league, but a good reference for a gag-a-day* strip, and Schlock Mercenary would also be on the list of things to strive for. I'm looking for a story background, and dialogue. I've had ideas for story backgrounds, but I'm crap at Dialogue. I'd be doing the layouts, so detailed descriptions, beyond some characters wouldn't be needed. There's no need for "Panel 1: X does this, Y does this; Panel 2: X says "bla", Y says: "Hey,that's my line!" " Unless the specific comic calls for that. * Gag-a-day refers to the format, not the fact that it's daily. I won't have time for a daily.....
Sounds good. I have thought of a few comics, some involve people from this forum and some from another. But i'm sure i could give it a bash. I've just finished read all of the Questionable Content comics so i have kinda know what you're looking for. I'll start writing as soon as you give me charictors.
I'll have a think about it Tephlon. I've never tried writing for someone else before, so I don't know how well it would work, but giving it a go couldn't hurt.
I do update once in a wihle you know I always had the opposite problem, I can't draw but can write. I'm far too unreliable to commit to anything other than my own work though (and even then, i'm still hopelessly unreliable), but I'm sure there's plenty of people that can chuck ideas at you Depends on what you're looking to do. A gag based comic and a more epic story line based one are obviously very different beasts. I wouldn't say that one's any easier to do than the other either. I'm sure it'll be great though, you've definitly got the artistic talent I'd kill for
Is it possible to contribute with a 'few' episodes or something? I generally lack imagination... um.. yeah... though sometimes things just add up and usually they end up good.

Hmm. Who gets the credit for Doors updating? Mal or me? Anyway, Like I said, I'm looking for epic or gag, anything really, as long as it's well written and intelligent. It could even be epic with a gag (Hard to pull off...) I'm just looking for a collaborator (m/f) As for me asking Chris and Buzzfloyd to read my thread, they were trying to get everyone and each other to read their stories... fair game.
Yeah... that wasn't really much of a success in the end. Thanks for asking, Tephlon, but I'm not sure I'd be able to. I'm involved in so many other projects at the moment, and add to that schoolwork and my eternal laziness, I don't think I'd have the time. :?

OK i kinda have a comic idea. Not sure if it's quite to your taste but it was a conversation with a freind yesterday. I think that it would make a good comic.
I read it. I like the idea, but it's really a one off joke. What I'm looking for is more of a setup of characters and a storyline (maybe with gags) Early Sluggy Freelance springs to mind too.
Huum...see your point. I suppose i could start a kinda sereis (can't even begin to spell this morning) about me and friends but chances are it would take to long to write comics.... well i could just write them from what happens to me at school etc etc. we have a lot of fun. yes i think that could work. I'll give you more ideas when they come about, thanks for reading it though
