Can you all please tell me what names you want putting on the drawings, i.e. your own name or a nom de plume. DEATHOFRATS, sorry my mistake - in that case it's okay as it is. Also, make sure you supply some unique text (not copied from wikipedia etc) if it's for a person/place/god not already in there.
Just use the name I signed 'em with, Mal. I will have a brief text description about the Lancre Morris Men and the Barbarians, maybe even a couple more sketches, to you by tomorrow afternoon.
I know this seems odd, but can you put on the name "Psycholera" when it's ready? It seems Om already has a page.
Okay, I added in Hsing's Polly: Polly Perks - Discworld Informer You wouldn't believe how many times I shifted the two pictures around. I've had them both top, left, bottom, right etc with them sometimes gazing off the screen, which looks odd, until I finally ended up putting Ozzer's back where it started and Hsing's appearing to glance across and up at the other picture.
Once it's been properly scanned, then yes. Or you could put the bad quality one in until I find a scanner, which might be an idea...
Maybe I'm better with scenery. I drew this scene a few of years ago using one of those big, flat pencils that carpenters use. I tend to prefer a chunky style rather than thin lines and cross hatching. I think the original idea may have been inspired either in the Lake District or somewhere in Scotland, but it fits the description of Lancre.
Just made a new page for The Lancre Morris men with text and image supplied by Joculator: Lancre Morris Men - Discworld Informer I also put the picture of Om by DEATHOFRATS up here: http://www.discworld.info/discworld-characters/greatgodom.html P.S. Can someone tell me which pictures/pages are still to go up, I'm confused?
Well, since I've had a bit of a relaxing week. I did a bit more sketching. I also thought I'd move the Pink Pussycat Club stuff into the proper thread. So... just to confuse Mal even further, here's another submission for Discworld Places Text entry... "The Pink Pussycat Club was probably the Discworld's first night club it's popularity being due to regular pole dance performances. Tawnee, actually called Betty, was Corporal Nobbs' girlfriend for a while and is a dancer at the Pink Pussycat. She is a very tall, strikingly beautiful woman who Sergeant Colon remembers was not only MIss May in Girls, Giggles and Garters, but also the first week in June. One of her co-workers is Broccollee. Her stage name was formerly Candi, but she'd been told brocolli was better for you. The Pink Pussycat Club is also haunted by the ghost of Professor Flead. A ex-necromancer from the Unseen University. After doing a small favour for Moist von Lipwig, by the way of translating some ancient golem text, he was taken to the club and given a front row seat. The management have decided to allow him to stay simply because of the trouble he might cause if they tried to remove him. It is unclear how he has fared recently since his idea of excitement was the glimpse of a shapely ankle." The sketches have been scanned, levelled, tidied up and vignetted in photoshop. (By necessity because the 6B pencil looked too silvery after scanning.) The Pink Pussycat Club The club poster Tawnee (aka Betty) in her Night Watch 'Uniform' Candi (now Brocollee) with her nightstick.
Joculator's bridge has been added here: Lancre - Discworld Informer Can someone tell me what's still waiting to go in from this thread, and which page it goes on, or if a page still needs to be made for it?
I think you're bang up to date, Mal. Except... I have a possible drawing of Ronald Saveloy (Teach) you may like for inclusion into the Lesser Barbarians and Heroes section. Watch this space
The Duchess and Shufti, but both don't have sites yet (maybe I'd put the Duchess under "Places/ Borogravia"?). I don't know if I'll have time to write a text for them, in case no one else has, I could try next week.
Ooops... Sorry, Hsing didn't read the thread far enough back. So let's keep Mal on his toes... Here is Teach. I think there is already some text for him in the Lesser Barbarians section.
End of a week's R & R. One final sketch for a while. Let's have Truckle the Uncivil... Hur! Hur! Hur!
Finally, here's my picture of A'tuin: Sorry it's sideways, I don't know how to fix that easily. Anyway, is was fiddling with a thick pen and drew this: It was loosely based on a swamp dragon. Could it go in? (Sorry it is sideways also)
There is a large list of Discworld Places and Characters on the Informer site that still only have text entries. I'm sure anything you care to contribute will be appreciated by other members . Just as a guide , here is an extract of Mal's original post setting out the main criteria for any sketches... Get that pencil sharpened and give it a shot
What's really annoying for me is that I do not have a scanner. So pictures have plenty of time to get lost or crumpled or go walkabout before I find someone who will scan them for me.
I'd like to submit something (though I'm afraid it's pen, 'cause I don't have any black pencils - is that ok?). How do I do that? I'm really stupid with the internet
Ok, I think I've got it. If this doesn't show up please do tell. It's Otto Chriek, dunno if you need him or not...
How's that? I have some writing done (who needs sleep? It's highly over-rated): [moved text to discworld.info] Hope that's ok. Tell me if I did something wrong...
Really like the Otto picture, Kobble! Anyway, I have found the original picture of Om, and am going to scan it in and get a better image than the one uploaded at the moment. Also with it were some other unfinished pictures. I think there's one of Detritus, Bloody Stupid Johnson and Death. Will finish and scan!
I was looking through Discworld Informer, and thought that the entry for Dungeon Dimensions was a little odd: It seems that the last two sentences are copied and pasted from earlier text. Who wrote this? Can someone fix it, please?
Stercus! Stercus! Stercus! That's why we haven't seen Buzzfloyd for a while. She's been cloned. <panic> Hastily picks up a handy King Edward and hurls it at DOR to drive away the evil spirits. All those eyes should help it find its target.
What I always thought cheery would look like, go to http://fc07.deviantart.com/fs46/i/2009/210/1/a/Cheery_by_risingwaters.jpg for the full picture. This is done by me, its just my dA account
Names, places and names, eh? The A'Tuin picture can go on the A'Tuin page, believe it or not. Last time I said this it was ignored, but could I have it attributed to 'Psycholera', please. I've just realised that the picture isn't showing on the original post. So here it is again: The swamp dragon doesn't have a page. It isn't actually a character, it's a species. You could put a bit about it on the magic page. I'm writing something for it, too.
There's a MkII 'Truckle the Uncivil' on the previous page Mal. I think his hand is cured now... Hey I've discovered a cure for arthritis he he. Have to get to work on the remaining horde.
Okay, all added and attributed correctly as far as I can tell. Please let me know if there are any miscakes or snarly upwordings.
http://www.terrypratchettbooks.org/...-sergeant-watch-turned-out-nicely-i-think.jpg Ok, that's my attempt at Sergeant Angua. I also have wolf version I'll put up now, ok? http://www.terrypratchettbooks.org/...lf-ok-black-white-version-my-wolf-angua-_.jpg There's the wolf version ^_^
Oh! And here's Death. I think you already have one so if you don't need another than fine, but here it is: http://www.terrypratchettbooks.org/...4-death-done-pen-slightly-smudged-ah-well.jpg A bit smudged I'm afraid. Sorry about that!
Kobble, I added your pictures. Hsing, I'm confused too. I think there may be a picture or 2 (?) of yours that needs a page to go with it?
