Yeah, I had to look up the year for Dark Side, couldn't remember if it was 72 or 73 (I'm excused, I wasn't born at the time). Knew the other years by heart, though! :-D
The lady singing on The Great Gig in the Sky is Clare Torry. Don't know about lesbian soundtracks, though. Kick your parents in their mouth from me. Every kid should be allowed to watch as many lesbians as he or she desire, especially the ones risking to tilt forwards from bad balance and who doesn't mind a guy to join in. Edit to add: This might not be completely obvious so I thought I'd beat the traffic and stop the flame wars before they happen. That second paragraph was sarcastic. I was referencing lesbian-porn-aimed-for-men, because it sounds like from the description of the movie Om's parents banned that it was just a movie about homosexual women, which I see no reason to prevent a kid to watch. I might be a bit biased, we are pretty liberal when it comes to sex education for adolescents in Sweden.
The film was definately not porn, but it was a bit risque. Bilitis Maybe they didn't want me to watch it because it was a French film. hehe.
KK, Om's parents were cult members, so they probably had rules about what they could and couldn't let her see. Mal, that rocks! :-D
heh it only sucks in the hands of a novice... it takes a true proff....ok i lied it takes some one with a heck of a lot of time to "master Paint"...... and before you think im gloating im not!! i cant even manage a decent stick figure properly
Grce thats really cool... Were you using just a mouse or did you have a better drawing tool because if it was just a mouse then your mastery of paint makes me feel small and inferior and the avatar I created as a hamfisted backwater dung heap of crap...
Help! I tried shrinking BuzzPippi LongstockingFloyd to the requisite size (150x150 pixels), but the file size was still bigger than 10kb. Can anyone produce a usable version for me, Ben?
*takes bulldozerly subtle hint* Nah, I just managed to miss the first post, plus was out for most of yesterday. Now, get online so I can easily transfer the file.
I usually mess up these things, sorry, better not. Unless you want an avatar the size of a needlepin.
I'm not sure about this one. Inspired by Arnie S. (abbreviated because I can't spell Schwarzeneiger) The Buzzfloydinator at only 3.8Kb and Curry Bean Buzzfloyd at 2.8Kb edited to include 2nd picture
*feels a need to contribute* Voila. Great A'Tuin Buzzfloyd. My paint skills pretty much fail but you get the idea.
Hah! Thanks, Ozzer. And Joculator, do you think they fail? (Also, Halfjack, see earlier in the thread for a discussion of Paint, I think.)
Gosh, I feel all appreciated. Heh, right now Paint is all I have because my machine is still running on Windows '98. *twitches at slow computer*
HalfJack, you should be able to install The Gimp, it runs on Win 98, and it's the free equivalent of photoshop...
Rewinds thread looking for inferred comment... HalfJack said "My paint skills pretty much fail but you get the idea." Buzzfloyd said "You see, Joculator, I told you it wasn't just me still using MS Paint." Joculator said "Huh! No comment" being privy to inside information ...then continued "I read the line as 'my paint(ing) skills pretty much fail but you get the idea"... meaning there was no clear reference to MSPaint. Nope... nothing there Sheesh! Pay attention, puh-lease But for the record... Anyone who can squeeze something like HalfJack's drawing out of MSPaint is a positive art guru!
Well thanks you guys. =D I feel all inspired to run off and give life to more Paint critters now. *skips*
Oh stop fussing, Jock, everyone else got that he meant MSPaint, just admit you're competing for the title of assistant Snails...
Please spell my short name as Joc, It sounds too Scottish otherwise. No offence to Doors. Never mind Kat, I think you're just trying to.... Mmm! Rabbit stew... there's a thought
Well, you did say you picked that name because it sounded masculine Jock, Jocky, darling, have you ever tried stewing a plastic bunny ? no amount of cheese could ever make that taste good. But we are a-straying from the subject at hand, being Buzzfloyd avatars. Jockfloyd.
Joculator: Could tone down the use of animated gifs? We already have a policy about not using animated avatars, and even though there are animated gifs in the standard emoticon batch, using them every other post, even in joke threads like the Cheesewars, is getting a bit annoying in my opinion. Smilies I can tolerate, but you've put images on photobucket just so you can have smilies that aren't available otherwise. (the one stirring the pot, the one with the frying pan, the magnifying glass. And that's just on *this* page in *this* thread...) Also, the magnifying glass animation is what prompted this post. Unnecessary and annoying. Edit: Magnifying glass, thanks Kat
1 - Point taken, Tephlon and apologies to you and anyone else who shares your feelings. 2 - I am aware of the ruling on animated avatars, although I have seen some on this board. I agree some animations can be, or are deliberately made to be, annoying, and it is also inconsiderate and time consuming, to others who have slow connection speeds. ( A lesson to all web designers - if we would just remember the simple courtesies of life) 3 - The images on Photobucket were not 'just put there' deliberately to annoy anyone on UMB, they have been stored over a number of years for use on other boards and sites created for customers. Again, I admit, I have a habit of diving in and using image links for speed(?) Now I'll have to re-write my favourite quote... "A picture is worth a thousand words... but only if it can be downloaded faster than text". Nevertheless...better etiquette, from me, in future posts. And apologies to Buzzfloyd for the mini thread hi-jack.
Thanks! Yay for mature responses. PS: 3) I didn't say they were put on photobucket to annoy, but you did put them there to have them handy on any board, right?
OK, I admit I use them more than then necessay. Now a special for Buzzfloyd... That 'Annoying Thing...' drum roll, Maestro please. Cray Zee Frogfloyd *hey, I might be getting somewhere with vector art.
It's a bit sloppy because it's photoshop done in paint. May I present... NaruFloyd Twins! (The turban is a random addition) It's in the link below, which is my friend's blog. I designed the creation and he created it. It's a bit small though. Verdant Agrimony
